enjoying Autumn

We've been having some great fall weather, perfect today for getting outdoors, soaking up some sunshine {and storing it for the gray months ahead}, and washing windows. I gathered up my bucket of hot soapy water & white vinegar, my long handled brush, and my squeegee and got to work.

After removing the dusty grime from summer, the windows are sparkling clean--all the better to let in the little bit of sunshine we do get over the winter.

{The window frame here--minus any glass--actually hangs from the end of our back deck.}

These pictures are a couple weeks old, and we have since lost all the leaves from the trees. The garden has also been tilled under. My rose bushes are enjoying the cooler weather, and are looking better than they did all summer.
A pile of wood is all ready and waiting to be cut and split for next year's burning. And, the sugar shack is undergoing some minor changes--it looks like we will give sugaring another go, having learned well from our mistakes.
I think we're ready for winter...well, as soon as I finish my "Owls" sweater. I'm hoping to finish up the cabling tonight and maybe actually finish it this week.
