Adorable Sheepish Version

I just couldn't help but share these adorable photos from my talented friend Kate at Tottoppers.

Her little boy Charlie is just the cutest and he wears his new "Sheepish" sweater so well!

It looks so cozy and warm on him, doesn't it?

I'm so happy to see that this little sweater works equally well in a little boy's wardrobe.

Christmas Eve in Santa Fe

I had the most wonderful vacation involving green tea, DH doing all the cooking, and reading many books on my Kindle. My one fiber-related Christmas gift was a beautiful Nordstrom cashmere scarf in my favorite color. It is actually a men's scarf but I like my scarves really long. (In case you're wondering what on earth I'm reading about mashed potato protests, it is The Food of a Younger Land by Mark Kurlansky.) 

I started the pretty Cross-Country Ski Hat from Norwegian Handknits but even using the same weight yarn and a smaller size needle, my gauge was way off. I could have easily omitted one 26 st pattern repeat and still have had a pretty large hat. The Ravelry pattern page also states there is a chart error so if I attempt another project from the book I'll check the pattern errata first.

Almost ready...a little more baking today and some wrapping of gifts.

~ I made it several years ago using a green styrofoam wreath as the base, and attached the ornaments with hot glue.

The vintage ornaments were found at yard sales back when I used to find them for a dollar a box.}

Drops Karisma Yarn

I bought myself some Drops Karisma superwash yarn at Nordic Mart to make the Drops Socks we're doing a KAL for on Ravelry's Stranded Forum. The price was definitely right - I'll let you know what I think of it once I start knitting the socks.

Bubbles was caught in the act of opening a present too early! She really does love to rip stuff up and could probably find full-time employment as a document shredder.

Li'l Man Vest

This past August I had the privilege of joining the Spud and Chloe design team!
I love working with the Spud and Chloe line of yarns, they are so soft, easy to work with and even machine washable. Perfect for kids!

This is the first of my patterns to be released through the Spud and Chloe company.

This little bulky vest makes the perfect classic, cozy, last minute gift for the little one in your life. It's knit with 3 skeins of Spud and Chloe Outer on size 10 1/2 needles. You won't believe how fast this little thing knits up.. Only a few evenings at the most!

Spud and Chloe named this pattern the "L'il Man Vest", but I think it can be worn by a girl as well. I've always thought it would look adorable on my daughter paired with a crisp white shirt, a plaid skirt and tights.

Completed but I'm left with lots and lots of ends.

The crochet back bone needed edging.

So I put on a top layer, using the same stitch.

This was half way done, left to unravel

So I picked up the stitches.

knitted up a little,

Then I have dropped stitches to make a neck line

And make way for straps.

Mear's baby car seat blanket completed.

Perfect little crochet stitches.
