I find this entrelac pattern very confusing :D

The following is the detailed instructions.

Cast on 24 stitches (multiple of 8)

BASE TRIANGLES
Work 3 Base Triangles same as for Garter Stitch sample

RH CORNER TRIANGLE
Work RS Corner Triangle same as for Garter Stitch sample.

RS RECTANGLES
*Pick-up row (RS) Pick up and  knit 8 stitches evenly along edge of next tringle/rectangle, turn.
Row 1 (WS) knit 8, turn.
Row 2 Knit7, slip slip knit (with last st of rectangle and first st of next triangle/rectangle), turn.
Row 3 Knit 8, turn.
Row 4 Knit 2, join 2nd ball of yarn and bind oss 4 stitches (1st remains on LH needle). work slip slip knit with this stitch and bind off 4 stitches with this stitch and next stitch of next triangle/rectangle, turn.
Row 5 Knit 2, with other ball knit 2, turn.
Row 6 Knit 2, with other ball knit 1, slip slip knit , turn.
Row 7 Repeat  row 5.
Rows 8-11 Repeat  rows 6 and 7 twice, turn.
Row 12 Knit 2, cast on 4 stitches, cut extra ball and using one ball only, knit 1, slip slip knit , turn.
Row 13 Knit 8, turn.
Row 14 Knit 7, slip slip knit , turn.
Row 15 Knit 8, turn.
Row 16 Knit 7, slip slip knit , do not turn.

Rep from *across row -2 RS
Rectangles have been worked

LH CORNER TRIANGLE

Work LH Corner Triangle same as for Garter Stitch sample.

WS RECTANGLES

Pick-up row (WS) Pick up and purl 7 stitches evenly along edge of triangle just worked -8 stitches on needle, turn.

*Row 1 Purl 8, turn.
Row 2 Purl 7, spp (with last st of rectangle and first st of next triangle/rectangle), turn.
Row 3 Purl 8, turn.
Row 4 Purl 2, join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off 4sts, work spp with last triangle/rectangle, turn.
Row 5 Purl 2, with other ball purl 2, turn.
Row 6 Purl 2, with other ball purl 1, spp, turn,
Row 7 Rep row 5
Rows 8-11 Repeat rows 6 and 7 twice -3 stitches on LH needle, turn.
Row 12 Purl 2, cast on 4 stitches, purl 1, spp, turn.
Row 13 Purl 8, turn.
Row 14 Purl 7, spp, turn.
Row 15 Purl 8, turn.
Row 16 Purl 7, spp, do not turn.
Next row (WS) Pick up and purl 8 stitches evenly along edfe of next RS Rectangle.

Rep from *across row -3 WS
Rectangles have been worked.
Turn.

**Work 1 RH Corner Triangle.
Work 1 row of RS Rectangles. Do not turn.
Work 1 LH Corner Triangle.
Work 1 row of WS Rectangles.

Rep from ** to desired length, ending with a LH Corner Triangle completed -1 stitch remains on the needle. Do not turn.

END TRIANGLES.
Work 2 End Triangles same as for Garter Stitch sample.
